Position Overview
The Account Director is responsible for selling advertising and sponsorship programs to healthcare marketers through direct dialogue with prospective clients. The position will also require attending industry conferences and events, traveling for sales meetings and general networking and business development.

ContextMedia puts healthcare media in the context of people’s lives. We build condition-specific media platforms to empower healthcare professionals to educate and inspire their patients at the doctor’s office, when and where they’re ready to learn.
Our first and primary service, the Diabetes Health Network, is a waiting room TV network in physicians’ offices with content focused on diabetes. We are launching an innovative suite of media tools next year to facilitate more frequent patient-physician dialogue to positively influence healthcare outcomes. Job Responsibilities Include:
- Building relationships with brand managers, media buyers and other decision-makers at pharmaceutical, medical device and CPG companies as well as their agencies
- Seeking buyers for advertising time on the company’s specialty-specific media platforms for patient-physician communication in the waiting room, online and mobile areas
- Participate in conferences and trade shows where exposure to these stakeholders is possible
- Research and stay up-to-date on any developments within this industry
- Negotiate and optimize long-term agreements with sponsors that secure both high prices and build the framework for a long-lasting relationship
- Work closely with the marketing department to maintain brand and message consistency
Skills and Abilities Required:
- 5-10 years of sales experience required, 3+ years in healthcare/pharmaceutical media preferred
- Comfortable with cold-calling and good at networking
- Strong network of existing relationships within the industry preferred
- Creativity and ability to think out-of-the-box to initiate new relationships
- Strong communication skills in all settings including client meetings and trade shows
- Available for frequent travel, sometimes on short notice
- Believe strongly in healthcare education and benefit to stakeholders of our company
- Taking personal accountability for the company’s success in generating revenue
- Preference for working in an entrepreneurial, fast-growing company atmosphere
