Jim Demas’ more than 20 years of finance and operations expertise has proven to be invaluable to ContextMedia’s growing breadth of services. Having consulted small and mid-sized businesses, both privately held and publically traded, Jim says he values ContextMedia’s diverse adaptability with members.

Jim spent eight years as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of pharmaceutical research company, Winston Laboratories and CFO of GenDerm Pharmaceuticals. He also served as controller of Curatek Pharmaceuticals for five years and audit manager of global accounting firm, Grant Thornton LLP’s Chicago office for seven years.

The Indiana University alum studied business and accounting and is a certified public accountant, serving as a freelance independent contractor before joining the ContextMedia team. He is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society.

Jim was born and raised in Chicago and describes himself as a diehard White Sox fan, although he says he’s lived on the north side of Chicago for most his life. Currently he lives in Park Ridge and dabbles in home repair projects at home and within his various real estate properties.
