Terry Howerton is a principal in Zealous Capital LLC, a venture development cooperative. He is a skilled technologist and committed entrepreneur, starting his first successful business at the age of 15. He has launched and been a part of a series of successful technology and business ventures, and is passionately involved in social entrepreneurship.
As founding Chairman of the Illinois Technology Association (ITA), Terry champions the interests of more than 700 companies. The ITA is a social enterprise that acts as a strategic development arm for member companies, and an economic development leader within the region, and has grown to be among the nation’s most influential associations. Terry also serves on the boards of several area start-ups, emerging companies and non-profits, and is very involved in education reform following the launch of an inner-city Chicago charter school focused on entrepreneurship and technology. He is a member of the Board of the Illinois Technology Foundation, the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, Genesys Works and the Mayor’s Council of Technology Advisors.
